Welcome to www.CichlidsOfVictoria.com, please feel free in joining us in our enjoyment of the wonderful cichlids of Lake Victoria.

We at CichlidsOfVictoria.com are dedicated to the preservation, care, identification and characteristics of the wonderful Cichlids of the Lake Victoria Basin. Lake Victoria is a shallow basin lake located in the rift valley of Africa and is the largest lake on the African continent. Also known as Victoria Nyanza, the lake is bordered by 3 different nations: Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. There are more than 200 species of beautiful cichlids in the Lake Victoria Basin. Many of these fish have different requirements and behaviors.

Whether you have knowledge and experience you can share with others or are just beginning to research the wonderful Fish within the Lake Victorian Basin you have come to the right place. We are here to help the new hobbyist learn from the wealth and knowledge that experienced breeders and aquarists share. We also enjoy sharing photos and fish stories of these wonderful Victorian fish. What is important is that we all learn from one another and enjoy our stay on the forum. Remember, no question is a silly question… it is from all questions and answers and experiences that we learn.
